Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), the central bank of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was established in 1952. It was renamed in 2020 to Saudi Central Bank under a new law approved by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. The Saudi Central Bank continues to use the acronym “SAMA” due to its historic significance and relevance locally and globally.
